One memory from your training at LISPA:
The ever-changing magical space of the studio, how different worlds would form from the different energies that were present in it
One highlight since leaving LISPA
Meeting and making work with other amazing LISPA graduates from around the world
Your most surprising thing since leaving LISPA:
Spending two years making a very physical show about shadows and archetypes which has about 3 words in it, which is a bit of a shock for me as I am a poet and usually words come first
Something you understand now that you didn’t when you were studying:
That there is no right, there is no wrong

One memory from your training at LISPA
Challenge. I was challenged to dive into the unknown many times, in its most diverse facets. I was challenged, for instance, to face my fears, to face the image I had of myself, to face the possibility of relating with the colleagues in a free, unpredicted way.
One highlight since leaving LISPA
I realised that the depth of what I experienced at LISPA was much, much deeper than what I could imagine during the process.
Your most surprising thing since leaving LISPA
The possibility of creating art that is connected with my existencial issues.
Something you understand now that you didn’t when you were studying
The necessity of WAITING for the changes in me to happen. They do not happen just because I realise things about myself. I need TIME for my life to change.

One memory from your training at LISPA
Playing a group improvisation of 'the neutral mask waiting at a bus stop'! (We had no idea)!
One highlight since leaving LISPA
Seeing my script performed on the London West End stage in 2016.
Your most surprising thing since leaving LISPA
I never thought I would be happy not being on stage myself, having always worked as an actor prior to attending Lispa, but the love and creation of story/ structure (encouraged by Lispa's training) greatly aided me on my journey to being a scriptwriter.
Something you understand now that you didn’t when you were studying
Thomas' famous words - 'Life is long'. It is indeed very long and with many turns and twists.

One memory from your training at LISPA:
all of them, from the neutral mask, to the chorus, not to mention the buffons and a memorable finale with the clowns and also our end-of-year show
One highlight since leaving LISPA:
going twice to the Minneapolis Fringe festival with people from the US, Japan, Ireland, Hawai, Wales, Switzerland, and creating a show that speaks to all these communities
Your most surprising thing since leaving LISPA:
everything turned out to be different from how I thought it was going to be, but perhaps the most surprising thing was finally to realize that acting as a professional actress was no longer a priority. that I could use my skills differently.
Something you understand now that you didn’t when you were studying:
that the path taken, the process, is more important than the final goal. but really! it's not just words or a view of the mind! and that the people you have travelled with, even if they are no longer physically present, remain associated and are always with you.

One memory from your training at LISPA:
When Deborah expressed that we will never find ourselves in ´the final year´of LISPA. LISPA stays with us through every year we pass in life and even if the cord was brutally cut when we left, to me, LISPA is like the ´earth mother´or ´the mentor´ in the Hero´s journey - never failing to hand me a tool in times of confusion!
One highlight since leaving LISPA:
My highlight is being able to carry this individual box of tools created through my experience of LISPA. The perspective and autonomous creativity it provides me with in life and in the arts.
Your most surprising thing since leaving LISPA:
How the experience of LISPA never seems to disappoint me. It has become an essential structure to lean on in understanding the world and myself in it.
Something you understand now that you didn’t when you were studying:
The power of playfulness.

One memory from your training at LISPA
The memory that keeps coming to me, is that of the ensemble. It's the connection that we all have on a spiritual, I say spiritual as it is the best way I can describe it. It's a wavelength that our energies mixed, fought and created on.
One highlight since leaving LISPA
Is the fact that when I go to an audition or any kind of acting class. I now come in with an energy to play. I realise how important it is to bring this side of me to my work. How joyous auditions and set life can be when I play.
Your most surprising thing since leaving LISPA
What I have learnt in terms of gesture and images and how I can translate that onto screen. Learning and seeing how my body reads on screen is extraordinary. I am surprised by how at peace I am at just being. I am so curious and exploring where the boundaries are and how I can manipulate and play within them.
Something you understand now that you didn’t when you were studying
I now understand the surrealist movement in art. Having gone to a Dorothea Tanning exhibition this week, I found myself connecting and understanding the pieces on a guttural level. I have never had that happen before. Now the artists can talk to me and it feels more personable. I have relationships with works of art and I love it.
