Manish Ruparel

Manish Ruparel is. And he keeps changing. Much to his disadvantage, but he cannot stop at this point. He is currently pursuing an MFA in Advanced Devising Practice at arthaus.berlin. From 2019 to 2021, he worked as an assistant director for Disney+ Hotstar's show OK Computer. Before that, he interned and worked as a video producer on Shasn, a political strategy board game from Memesys Studios which went on to become India's biggest Kickstarter campaign. In 2019, he graduated from FLAME University, Pune with a major in Film & Television and a minor in Theatre. In 2016, he finished his junior college (high school) and gave entrance exams for engineering, law, business administration and liberal arts. Before 2016, he was a young boy hopelessly in love and a minor.

Manish's work often starts with what is happening around him and how it resonates in his body. He loves finding new ways of telling stories but many suspect it's because he gets bored too easily. His themes often deal with new perspectives of looking at the human condition and he chooses to work with forms that include people coming together during the creation process. He often tries to create a stir in the audience with his work, especially after a review once accused him of creating a satisfying short film. He currently lives in Berlin with a bunch of smart electronics and an absent human flatmate.

WHERE AM I?

How did I land up here? Where will I go now? What am I searching for? Are you following? Who am I? Oh wait, I know that one. Or maybe I don’t. Will I find it soon? Why am I asking so many questions? Maybe you can help me. Come along?

To tempt you to watch me live in Arthaus for the last time for Where Am I?, here are some images from my previous performances:
